The Australian Maritime Mentoring Program is an exciting new joint initiative between the Australasian Marine Pilots Institute, the Nautical Institute, the Company of Master Mariners of Australia, Offshore and Specialist Ships Australia and the Pilbara Ports Authority.
The program has been developed to bridge the gap between new entrants to the maritime industry and the senior maritime professionals who are already established in their careers.

I’m very happy to be part of this exciting programme. I have been a qualified pilot for over 22 years, both in the RAN and commercially in the North West of Western Australia. I have been a training pilot in the Navy and at Cape Preston in WA on various ships (up to Mini Cape size ) and on the various ships and submarines of the RAN and foreign countries. I was also one of a few RAN Pilots with a Nuclear powered warship endorsement. I am now fully retired and have both the time and the dedication to assist new mariners in their quest for a Marine Pilotage qualifIcation
